MIMI, LIFE ON CROSSCUT WAY

Our roaming ghost Boo spoke with Mimi from Life on Crosscut Way (see her blog and instagram page here) from a safe social distance! See the Q&A below and discover how Mimi is gearing up for Halloween 2020!

Boo: First and foremost, what’s your favorite Halloween candy?

Mimi: I would have to say Reese’s are my absolute favorite. They give me such nostalgia. When I was little I used to love the vampire commercial. Also, how perfect are they for Halloween with their original orange wrapper?

Boo: How about your all-time favorite costume?

Mimi: I don’t think I have one for myself but definitely have a favorite for my kids. Last year my oldest was Little Red Riding Hood and my youngest was the Big Bad Wolf. It was absolutely adorable. I love that they are always willing to coordinate their costumes.

Boo: What do your kids want to dress up as this year?

Mimi: It literally changes every single day. We haven’t hammered one down yet but we will soon as it is right around the corner.

“My only advice would be to do what’s best for your
family. There is no right or wrong. I tink doing what
you’re comfortable wit is okay and everyone should
respect oter people’s choices. ”

Boo: What activities are you considering this year as alternatives to trick-or-treating?

Mimi: Definitely a small shindig at the house (even if it’s just us). I am hoping my neighborhood does their annual parade that my kids can participate in. If everyone is social distancing and following the guidelines I see no reason why that shouldn’t happen. Halloween is such a fun time of year. It’s my favorite for a plethora of reasons but mainly because it kicks off the holiday season. We can’t let Halloween fall by the wayside! We also will definitely be leaving candy out for anyone that wants to trick or treat!

Boo: Will you introduce your kids to any special Halloween movies or books this year?

Mimi: We get new Halloween books every year. This year we purchased “Gilbert the Ghost,” “Vamperina Ballerina,” “She Made a Monster,” and “How to be Friends with a Ghost.

Boo: Any additional advice for staying safe while having fun this Halloween?

Mimi: My only advice would be to do what’s best for your family. There is no right or wrong. I think doing what you’re comfortable with is okay and everyone should respect other people’s choices.

Boo: Last question: If you could only choose one, pumpkin pie or apple pie?

Mimi: Although I enjoy both pies I am going to have to say pumpkin pie. It’s one of my absolute favorites!!
